My Story
A world of numbers and taxes…that’s where my story began. But the pages of my book quickly turned to reveal a different story.

I had all but fallen into a world of deductions, spreadsheets and unacceptably heavy textbooks. And while my interests have always been teasingly diverse (delving into everything from French and economics to specialist mathematics), it was always words that drew me in. In legal studies, words were the building blocks of law, shaping our understanding of rights, obligations, and justice. In economics, I saw how words were not just descriptive, but also performative, shaping the reality they described by influencing attitudes, behaviours, and decisions. And in literature, I fell in love with the words that painted pictures before my very eyes, took me from Kabul to Andalusia, and brought the stories of the past into my present.

When I was growing up, the best stories often came from friends, family or the newspaper if I was feeling particularly intellectual.

But after years of stories permeating my private thoughts, public conversations, waking and sleeping dreams, I realised that stories can be found everywhere, and everyone has a story to tell; whether individuals or organisations, positive or negative. Myself included.
Now a storyteller, creative and conscious communicator, my passion is connecting with people and uncovering their unique stories.

I have been playing with words for the better part of my life, including launching and creating content for my own travel and lifestyle website, managing the internal communications within an organisation, and working in PwC’s the Difference and Scyne Advisory's Centre for Strategic Co-design to help businesses across the private and public sector solve complex business challenges through impactful storytelling.

Having been on both sides of the fence, I am now able to bring a unique perspective, understanding and, most importantly, empathy to every conversation.

And so, the next chapter of my story is about uncovering others’ stories, in the same way I unearthed mine. Because, as it turns out, there is simply no way to understand the world around us, or the people within it, without stories.
Stories have this incredible power to connect us, inspire us, and make sense of the world around us. I write about all of this on my Substack and LinkedIn.
